If you successfully complete the NQ Dance course, this HND will put what you’ve learned centre stage. You’ll strengthen your existing practical dance skills to a high level, and develop your knowledge of performance, teaching and choreography. You’ll also cover theoretical subjects, like the history of dance, body conditioning and anatomy, learning how to avoid injury as you work towards a professional career in dance.

Anatomy and Injury Prevention for Dancers; Body Conditioning; Advanced Choreographic Skills; Classical Ballet; Contact Improvisation; Contemporary Dance; Contextual Studies; Dance History; Dance: Performance and Production; ISTD Examinations Syllabi; Jazz/Tap Dance; Teaching Skills; Work Placement; Sound Editing for Choreography.
Higher English, or NQ Dance (Level 6), or strong technique including a minimum of 2 years' classical ballet training (RAD, ISTD) or equivalent. You should have the physical potential to undergo professional dance training. Entry subject to group interview and audition. Relevant HNC may give you entry to year 2.
