Content

This NC Acting and Performance course should be seen as the first of three years of continuous training. It concentrates on the key skills of acting, voice, movement and production.

Acting training also helps to develop a number of additional skills such as the development of empathy and emotional intelligence, as well as enhanced verbal and non-verbal communication skills which help individuals to express themselves more clearly. Acting training also helps individual to build confidence by developing a strong and dynamic presence which can positively impact both their personal and professional lives.

Subjects covered during NC Acting and Performance include:

Acting; Production; Voice; Movement; Theatre history; Group singing skills; Acting styles and practitioners; Creative project.

There is also technical work (such as scenic art, costume, lighting and sound). Please note that during production blocks, you will be expected to work additional hours out-with the conventional college day.

Assessment is continuous with a mixture of practical and theoretical assessments. There is no final examination.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry qualifications. Entry is by audition.
