This is an excellent program and qualification for students wishing to pursue a career in the dynamic, diverse, popular and exciting world of hospitality. The course will focus on establishing, developing and enhancing knowledge, understanding and awareness with specific emphasis on operating a professional food and beverage service.
You will undertake a wide variety of areas that are specifically important within the food and beverage orientated role and specifically important to employees within the professional hospitality industry. You will have the opportunity to work in a professional, realistic work environment, ML One training restaurant, a modern restaurant that replicates industry, preparing learners for employment prospects within the Hospitality industry.
Content: Food safety and health & safety; Legislation in food and beverage service; Menu knowledge and design; Principles of beverage product knowledge; Service of hot beverages; Food and beverage service skills; Handling payments and maintaining the payment point; Principles of customer Service in hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism; Developing skills for employment in catering and hospitality industry etc.
No formal entry requirements. Relevant national qualification at SCQF Level 5 preferred. Interview.
