This course is your entry point to understanding engineering principles and systems. You will study key areas of engineering principles and Mathematics which will help build a strong foundation for a future career in engineering.

Units include:
Communication; Engineering: Applying Information Technology; Mathematics: Technician 1; Engineering Systems; Engineering Materials; Electrical Principles; Electrical Testing and Measurement; Single Phase and Three Phase Principles; Graphical Engineering Communication; Application of PLC's; Engineering Project; Electronic Test Equipment and Measurement.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including Maths and a science subject, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview and aptitude test.

Progression Routes

Progression onto HNC Electrical Engineering or HNC Mechanical Engineering.
