Data Science will give you an awareness and appreciation of the underlying computing and algorithmic principles driving data science technologies. The next generation HNC will focus on the analytical and data processing skills needed to begin a career as a data scientist or analyst.

This HNC course will allow you to explore a variety of technologies in this digital world and understand the underlying concepts. You will be introduced to a selection of areas that impact aspects of all our daily lives, including Basic Computing Concepts, Software Development, Data Science, Relational Database Principles, Internet of Things, Statistics and Artificial Intelligence.

Entry Requirements

1 relevant Higher plus 2 subjects at National 5, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Entry subject to interview.

Progression Routes

This course will prepare you for either employment in a junior developer role within the IT Industry or progression to HND Software Development second year. Also, this course provides you with the entry level to a wide range of university courses in computing.
