The BSc (Hons) IT Software Development Graduate Apprenticeship course, will not only develop your own knowledge and understanding but also helps grow a business as well.

You will do this by:

Gaining experience in custom software development processes, including the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies necessary to a software engineer.

Designing appropriate solutions in a range of application contexts/domains using software development approaches.

Building and testing software solutions.

Reconciling conflicting project objectives and finding acceptable compromises.

Understanding current theories, models, and techniques that provide a basis for problem identification and analysis, software design, development, implementation, verification, and documentation.

Understanding the importance of applying negotiation, effective work habits, leadership, and good communication with stakeholders.

Entry Requirements

2026 entry requirements:

4 Highers at BBBC including two science or technological subjects, Computing Science preferred, or a relevant Foundation or Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 6 plus two science or technological subjects, Computing Science preferred.

You must be in (or in the process of looking for) a GA position with an employer. Contact institution for further information.
