This HNC Applied Science (Chemical) course is ideal for learners who want to develop strong theoretical and practical knowledge in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. It’s designed to help you progress to university or directly into the science and chemical industries.

You’ll gain essential skills in analytical and instrumental chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry, biological science, and mathematical applications — giving you a comprehensive understanding of how chemistry connects to wider applied sciences.

You will build up an excellent understanding of a broad range of scientific concepts and skills, including:

Organic chemistry; Inorganic chemistry; Mathematics and statistics; Physics; and, Scientific techniques.

You will also take part in practical units to develop your experience of scientific techniques and equipment.

This course is taught on a day-release basis.

Entry Requirements

Higher Chemistry plus English, Maths, Biology and Chemistry at National 5, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6
