Content

This is a full time programme over 1 academic year and is part of the Scottish wider access programme (swap).

Aimed at people who have life experience and are wishing to return to education with their objective being a career as a paramedic or a career within the health sector.

Course units include:

First aid, Human Biology, Mental Health and Mental Illness, Values and principles, Human Development,
Core skills such as Communications, ICT and Numeracy.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. Applicants must have been absent from formal education for a minimum of 5 years.

Progression Routes

HNC Healthcare. You can also progress on to an undergraduate paramedic science degree at Glasgow Caledonian University, Stirling University and University of West of Scotland, or other healthcare related degrees.
