During this course, you may learn:

hand fitting techniques for component production; turning activities using a industrial size lathe for diverse component production; basic welding processes, including MMA, MIG, and MAG; wiring and testing electrical equipment and circuits, termination, and component connection; basic CNC programming and machining activities; CAD system usage for detailed mechanical engineering drawings; essential Skills: communication, numeracy, ICT, teamwork, and problem-solving; and, IT skills: word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and graphics.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4, preferably including English and Maths, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Interview and aptitude test.

Progression Routes

Relevant NC programme at Level 6 or a Modern Apprenticeship.
