The BSc Music Technology provides students with the knowledge and practical experience to work in a range of areas within the creative music, audio and media sectors.
Guest speakers from industry also form part of the course to further deepen your understanding of the subject.
The Paisley Campus facilities include three professional industry-standard recording studios, two specialist iMac audio labs and students also have access to a live music venue
We offer areas of study that focus on developing high-calibre graduates ready for a successful career in the music and media industry.
This course is accredited by JAMES (Joint Audio Media Education Support) and is an Avid Learning Partner (offering the opportunity to gain Pro Tools certification).
2024 entry requirements
Standard entry:
4 Highers at BBBC including English and Music or Music Technology plus Maths or Applications of Maths or Physics at National 5.
Entry to year 2 is possible with 3 Advanced Highers at CCD including English and Music or Music Technology plus Higher Maths or Physics.
Widening access entry:
4 Highers at BBCC including English and Music or Music Technology plus Maths or Applications of Maths or Physics at National 5.
Career paths would typically be as: studio engineers, either recording mixing or mastering music, live sound engineers, sound recordists, broadcast engineers, audio editors, sound technicians, further and higher education, or as AV installation engineers. The Music Technology degree also provides transferable graduate skills which could be applied to careers in other areas.
