This course is designed to teach you the skills you need to become a successful cloud & network infrastructure specialist. You’ll learn how to design and deploy cloud-based systems, manage network infrastructure, administer servers, and work with other IT professionals to create amazing cloud-based products.
Building on the skill set of the HNC, Year 2 provides opportunities to extend these skills and focus more in-depth on specialist areas of hardware and software support issues. Completion of the course culminates in a thought provoking project based on realistic scenarios. Students will complete some vendor accredited portions of the HND and are encouraged to undertake the highly valued professional exams.
Studying the Microsoft Windows client/server and Linux operating systems within virtualised environment provides hands-on experience and learning. This course also provides opportunity to achieve professional qualifications from CompTIA, Oracle, Cisco and Microsoft.
All students will also have the opportunity to participate in training for the WorldSkills UK IT competitions. Past entrants from this course have gone on to represent the College in the national finals in Birmingham, with many achieving medal status.
HNC Computing (NextGen) or other relevant HNC. Interview.
Year 3 entry to degree courses at a selection of Scottish universities subject to grades. Progression to the UWS BSc Computer Networking, delivered in Cumbernauld Campus is encouraged.
