This course is ideal if you are looking to start your career within the Hospitality/Cookery Industry – it will give you the opportunity to try out both Cookery and work in our new College Cafe before deciding on your career path.

The course will introduce you to a variety of techniques needed to work in a professional kitchen and a Cafe – you will develop your skills in areas such as: Food and beverage service skills; Kitchen skills; Food hygiene; Working as part of a team.

What you will learn:

How to handle and operate kitchen equipment; Health and safety within a kitchen environment; Cookery processes; Training in a realistic cafe; Working as part of a team; Barista skills; Time management.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. You must be able to work to SCQF Level 3 and have an interest in working within the hospitality and catering industry. You should demonstrate good communication skills.
