This new Foundation Degree is a 2-year course, similar to a 2-year HND set at SCQF level 7 in year one and SCQF level 8 in year two. This first of its kind in Scotland in Esports. Linked to the opening of the Dundee Esports arena, this course will develop the skills students need to build a career in the exciting Esports industry.

Esports is not just about playing games competitively, this is a multidisciplinary career where a range of skills are required to manage and participate in competitions. You will learn how to plan and organise Esports events. You’ll explore the culture of Esports, look at the audience and games that are played in high-level competitions and consider the importance of professionalism and ethical conduct and the effects of legislation. You’ll also develop digital skills in Cyber Security, and streaming and take part in Esports coaching and sports psychology.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher plus 4 subjects at National 5 at A or B, or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.

Progression Routes

Successful students will be able to progress to Abertay University and articulate to their Esports Degree.
