This adapted NQ Music Business course provide students with the practical training and theoretical business knowledge required to succeed in this demanding industry whilst offering the chance of participating in real-life events and collaborating with our college record-label and other Music / Sound Production students developing the vital skills for a career within the dynamic world of Music Business. Unique opportunities include participating in our annual Question Session where you’ll be working with professionals from across the world in a one-day Music Business conference and event held in Glasgow.
If you are interested in pursuing a business career within the Creative Industries then this course will prepare you. The course will also prepare those who wish to study at Higher Education level, providing the opportunity to build the required skills and confidence to meet industry expectations.
This course will offer a thorough introduction to the music industry and an understanding of business models within it. You will research current music business trends and apply them to various tasks and projects. The course will introduce you to the operations of events, marketing, promotion and developing artists.
Units include: Creative industries; Creative project; An introduction to music marketing; Music promotion; Radio interviewing; Event organisation.
2 subjects at National 5. You will be required to attend an interview.
