Content

eSports is one of the most exciting areas in the entertainment and computing world at the moment. This course will include a flavour of eSports around creating an eSports brand and project collaboration as well as developing your skills and social media reach as a gamer, allowing you to pit your wits against likeminded others.

Playing computer games is a lot of fun, but it is actually more fun to design and create your own game!! You will be introduced to games design and development, including the use of the Games Engine Unreal. Unreal is the worlds most advanced and cutting-edge real time 3D creation tool allowing you to create your OWN games quickly!

You will study:
3D Modelling and Animation; Character creation; Games programming; Computer programming; Animation fundamentals; Games portfolio; Gameplay; Creating an eSports brand; Games interface design; NPA Computer games development; Mathematics (optional for progression to Level 6); Media production (optional for progression to Level 6).

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 including English, Maths and preferably an arts or STEM-based subject; or Certificate: Computing with Digital Media; or Certificate: Computing with Computer Games Design and Cyber Security. Interview.

Advanced Certificate: Computer Games Design and Animation SCQF Level 6.
