Beginning with the fundamentals of cyber security, you will learn the basic methods hackers use to infiltrate computer systems and how to prevent unauthorised access.

The huge increase in digital technology has had an enormous impact on society as a whole. There is a critical reliance on the internet and with a surge in the number of connected devices, the internet has become a tool for terrorism, crime and exploitation. As a result, cyber security has become a key priority for the government as they attempt to protect against the ongoing threats that the digital revolution continues to throw up.

The course includes:

Ethical Hacking; Internet Security; Digital Security; Digital Forensics; Firewall Security to PALO ALTO standards; Network concepts.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher plus 2 subjects at National 5, Maths preferred; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
