User Experience (UX) Design is a creative dynamic discipline that encourages curiosity creatively expressed through the voice of people. This exciting course encourages you to explore the world of interaction design and user experience with devices and systems.

This user experience design online course will develop your skills in identifying unmet needs and defining them by incorporating them into the process of design.

Year 1:
Being Digital; Experiencing the Digital City; Sound Theory 1; Introduction to Human-computer Interaction; Programming for Media and Design; Producing Digital

Year 2:
Sensing Systems for Mobile Applications; Sound Production 1; Practical Interaction Design; Web Technologies; Digital Video Development; Playful Interaction

Year 3:
Digital Storytelling; Scripting for Interactive Media; Creative Technology; Computing in Contemporary Society; Responsive Environments; Cyberpsychology

Year 4:
Professional Internship; Experiential Design; User Experience; Professional Identity through Portfolio Development; Honours Project

Entry Requirements

2022 entry requirements

Standard entry:
4 Highers at BBBB including one from Maths, Art and Design, Chemistry, Computing Science, Economics, Engineering Science, Graphic Communication or Physics plus English and Maths or Applications of Maths at National 5.

Widening access entry:
4 Highers at BCCC including one from Maths, Art and Design, Chemistry, Computing Science, Economics, Engineering Science, Graphic Communication or Physics plus English and Maths or Applications of Maths at National 5.

For entry to year 2 you must have 3 Advanced Highers at BBC plus one Higher from Maths, Art and Design, Chemistry, Computing Science, Economics, Engineering Science, Graphic Communication or Physics.
