This NC Software Development course introduces a range of skills relating to software development (programming) and web development allowing you to develop skills that are in demand by industry. You will develop problem-solving and other employability skills, including the development of academic skills that will help prepare you for progression to further study.

Software development skills empower you to create software solutions that address real-world problems and drive innovation, while cybersecurity skills ensure the integrity and security of those solutions. Together, they enable you to be a well-rounded technologist.

Content includes:
Applications development; Website creation and authoring; Computer hardware and systems; Networking; Data security; Database; Academic skills; Cyber security.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5 including English, Maths, Computing, IT or a science subject, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Entry may be subject to an interview.
