This manufacturing engineering course will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to work as an engineer in the design, mechanical and manufacturing sectors. It is suitable for mechanical engineering apprentices and offers progression to HND Mechanical Engineering as well as degree courses.

Content includes:

Computer aided draughting for engineers; Engineering drawing; Materials selection; Manufacturing: Process and equipment selection; Quality management: An introduction; Economics of manufacture; Design for manufacture; Communications; Engineering principles; Engineering mathematics 1; Manufacturing engineering: Graded Unit 1; Information technology: Applications software 1.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths (Application of Maths not accepted), Design and Manufacture or Physics, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

Progression Routes

Relevant degree programme.

You will have potential to move on to jobs at technician or junior engineering level in the energy, maintenance, design, manufacturing and mechanical engineering sectors.
