This programme gives learners the knowledge of practical skills and the theoretical knowledge in both the hardware and software areas of computing covering topics such as hardware concepts, operating systems and networking. About a quarter of the course will focus on Mobile Technology and include lessons covering Architecture, Security and Programming all related to the increasing world of Mobile Devices.

The topics studied will include Mobile Technology subjects including: Architecture, Security, Peripherals and Programming for mobile devices. In terms of ICT Support, the learner will study and obtain hands-on practical experience covering: Hardware Concepts, Computer Hardware & Systems, Operating System Concepts, Networking Fundamentals and CISCO IT Essentials.

Time will also be spent developing skills in software development and using IT applications in the Microsoft Office suite including Word Processing and Presentations.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 or NQ Computer Science (Level 5). You will attend for an advice session with pre-entry test. Interview.
