Glenrothes (Stenton) Campus
The main aims of the HNC in Computer Arts and Design are to underpin specific knowledge for the candidate studying art and design in a digital context. The course has four main areas of enquiry: 2D design, 3D design, fine art and time-based art.
This course will develop digital computer arts skills through extensive use of software including the full Adobe Creative Suite covering audio, 2D animation and digital art and design.
You will study: Digital Imaging, 2D Computer Animation, Digital Audio for Artists and Designers, Typography: An Introduction, Compositing and Motion Graphics, 3D Computer Visualisation, Digital Imaging, Computer Arts and Design, Art and Design Context, Scriptwriting, Theory and Practice, Development Drawing, Computer Arts and Design: Graded Unit, Creative Industries: An Introduction.
One Higher in English, Computing Science, Graphic Communication, Art and Design or Drama, plus National 5 English (if not held at Higher); or NC Computer Games - Creative Industries (and Animation); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview. A relevant portfolio of work is also required.
