The HNC in Computing (Computer Science) covers a wide variety of related skills including: developing software, carrying out technical support, relational database management systems, project management, introduction to ethical hacking and an introduction to cloud computing.

You will study: Developing software; Professionalism and ethics in computing; Computer systems fundamentals; Troubleshooting computer problems; Team working in computing; Software development: developing small scale applications; Relational database management systems; Cloud computing; Ethical Hacking Fundamentals.

Entry Requirements

2 relevant Highers plus 4 subjects at National 5; or Foundation Apprenticeship IT Hardware and System Support or IT Software Development plus 4 subjects at National 5; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
