This course is designed for people who have little or no experience of the catering industry and would be the first step into a career within the kitchen. The food industry is an exciting place to start a career, with so many different jobs available. You will learn about food preparation, cooking, baking and food presentation, as well as how professional kitchens and food service areas work. You will also develop your team work, employability and enterprise skills. Work experience will be undertaken within The Food Court, which is in partnership with Sodexo.

You may progress onto the Professional Chef Award Silver Award or a Modern Apprentice work based programme of study.
