Year 1:
Introduction to Computing, Computing Information Systems, Problem Solving and Modelling, Computer Systems and Networking, Object Oriented Programming.

Year 2:
Advanced Software Design and Development, Database Systems, Real World Projects and Professional Skills, Ethical Hacking, Advanced Software Design and Development, Dynamic Web Development, Internet of Things.

Year 3:
Computer Ethics and Law, Computing Network Management, Operating Systems, Software Engineering and Project Management, Computer Security and Cryptography, Web Security, Database Security, Wireless Networks. You can choose to do a Year-Long Industrial Work Placement, which will increase the course duration to 5 Years.

Year 4:
Digital Forensics and Analysis, Connecting Networks, Honours Individual Project, Securing Networks, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, Honours Individual Project.

Entry Requirements

2023 entry requirements
Standard entry: 4 Highers at BBBC plus National 5 English and Maths.

Entry to year 2 is possible with Advanced Higher Computing Science and a maths based subject at BB.

Widening access entry: 3 - 4 Highers at BBC or BCCC plus National 5 English and Maths.
