Introduction to Networking, Problem-Solving and Modelling, Exploring Computing Devices, Internet Security and Performance, Web Design Technologies, as well as a choice of electives from other courses in the multidisciplinary Foundation Year.
YEAR 2
Advanced Software Design and Development, Database Systems, Real World Projects and Professional Skills, Ethical Hacking, Dynamic Web Development, Internet of Things, Data Structures and Algorithms.
YEAR 3
Social and Human Factors in Cyber Security, Computing Network Management, Interdisciplinary Team Project, Computer Security and Cryptography, Web Security, Routing and Switching, Research Methods, Wireless Networks.
You can choose to do an optional year-long Industrial Work Placement or Study Abroad, which will increase the course duration to 5 Years.
YEAR 4
Digital Forensics and Analysis, Virtual Systems Support, OT and ICS Security, Securing Networks, Honours Individual Project, Security Incident Event Management, Machine Learning for Cyber Security.
2025 entry requirements
Standard entry: 4 Highers at BBCC plus National 5 English and Maths (if not held at Higher).
Entry to year 2 is possible with Advanced Higher Computing Science and a maths based subject at BB plus National 5 English and Maths (if not held at Higher).
Widening access entry: 3 - 4 Highers at BCC or CCCC plus National 5 English and Maths (if not held at Higher).
