This course gives you the skills you need to provide great customer care when you’re serving food and drink.
You’ll gain real life work experience by serving real food to real customers in our fabulous Salt & Barrel restaurant in the Kilmarnock Campus. Here, every week you’ll get ‘hands on’ experience of waiting at tables - explaining to customers about the dishes available, taking orders and serving.
You’ll learn about food and drink products, so you can advise your customers on their choices.
You’ll also find out what you need to know to successfully work in the hospitality industry, including food hygiene and safety.
4 subjects at National 4; or Introduction to Professional Cookery with Hospitality; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. A place on the course is subject to an interview process.
Progression on to a relevant course at SCQF Level 6 or employment.
