This course will give you a broad range of skills in computer hardware, software, applications and editing. It also includes a National Progression Award in Digital Media Editing.

You’ll begin by learning how to set up, maintain and upgrade computer hardware and systems. You’ll look at software components, and learn how to install software packages onto a system.

You’ll develop basic skills in applications development, from project planning through to creating a prototype. You’ll also test your application using a suitable development environment.

You’ll develop skills in three types of editing - still images, audio and video. For each you’ll work through a brief, from identifying what you need to final presentation. Some of the areas you’ll learn about along the way include technical standards, copyright, editing audio effects and manipulation.
