This comprehensive HND programme allows you to dive deeper into essential business subjects, including economics, accounting, management, marketing, HR, IT, and law. You’ll gain the knowledge and expertise needed to excel in a sector of your choice, whether it’s banking, local government, manufacturing, retail, or even starting your own business.

Year 1 (HNC):
Accounting for business: An introduction; Business Fundamentals with emergent technologies; Communications; Marketing; Economics; Managing people and organisations; Business law; Entrepreneurial skills; Personal development planning; Graded unit examination; Digital technologies for administrators; Presentation skills.

Year 2 (HND):
Behavioural skills for business; Business contractual relationships; Economics 1: Micro macro theory; Human resource management; Economics 2: The world economy; Preparing financial forecasts; Project management: Strategy, decision-making and risk; Managing business culture and strategy; Research skills; Graded unit project.

Entry Requirements

1 relevant Higher plus National 5 English and a maths based subject, or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

Progression Routes

3rd year entry to a relevant degree programme. You can also move on to University of Glasgow Honours Degree in Rural Business Management.
