This HND Computing Software Development course covers a range of subjects within the areas of software development or computer science. You will have the opportunity to study towards Oracle Academy and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) qualifications. At the Cardonald Campus, you may also have the opportunity to study computer forensics, ethical hacking and CompTIA A+ qualifications. These qualifications and PHP and you will have access to the latest Microsoft software in labs that are equipped to a high standard.

Subjects include:
Computer systems; Programming functional and object oriented; Project management; Databases; Data analysis and design; Data structures; Oracle Academy; Web development; Computer forensics; Ethical hacking; Mobile web apps.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher plus National 5 Maths, Computing Science or another science subject, or a relevant NQ or equivalent qualification. You may be required to attend an interview.

Progression Routes

Third year entry to various degree courses at University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow Caledonian University, Edinburgh Napier University and Abertay University.

Second year entry to University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde and University of Edinburgh is possible, depending on maths qualifications.

Employment as a software engineer, systems developer or systems or business analyst.
