Aimed at people who will normally have life experience skills and are wishing to return to education with their objective being a career in Nursing, who have few or no qualifications and who have been out of education for more than 5 years.
Course units include:
Values and Principles in Care; Social influences; Stress and stress Management; Human Development and Behaviour; The Human Body; Mental Health and Mental Illness; First aid; HIV Infection;
Core skills such as Communications Higher, ICT and Numeracy.
No formal entry requirements. Away from formal education for 5 years. Interview.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
HNC Health Practice, or Adult or Mental Health Nursing at Glasgow Caledonian University and University of the West of Scotland.
