This new interdisciplinary programme combines dedicated Criminology modules with modules from Sociology, Psychology and Law, to provide a broadly based and comprehensive Criminology and Sociology joint honours undergraduate degree.

First Year: Foundations of Common Law Thinking; Academic Writing for Social Sciences; Introduction to Sociology - Self, Identity and Society; Criminal Law; Introductory Psychology - Concepts and Theory; Introduction to Sociology - Systems of Power.

Second Year: Criminal Law; Introduction to Criminology; Advanced Psychology - Concepts and theory; Sociology of Everyday Life - Global Issues in the 21st Century; Crime Theories and Concepts; .

Third Year: Thinking Sociologically; Biological Psychology; Social Research methods; Social Psychology; Crime and Social Justice; Policing and Society.

Fourth Year (Honours): Criminology; Face Recognition; Forensic Psychology; Research Project.

Entry Requirements

2027 entry requirements:

Standard entry:
4 Highers at BBBB plus English at National 5.

For second year entry you would require 2 Advanced Highers at AB.

Widening access entry:
3 Highers at BBC plus English at National 5.

1 Foundation Apprenticeship is accepted in place of a Higher.
