This engineering course provides the knowledge and skills required to work in the mechanical and manufacture engineering industry.

Core Units:
Communication Core Skill Unit; Mathematics: Craft 1; Engineering: Using Information Technology; Health and Safety: Engineering.

Mandatory Units:
Engineering Dimensional Control; CAD for Engineers; Engineering Materials; Graphical Engineering Communications.

Optional Units:
Engineering Project; Engineering Quality: An Introduction; Engineering Workshop Skills; Engineering Assembly Skills; Material Removal Practice: Milling; Material Removal Practice: Turning; Metal inert gas (MIG) and metal active gas (MAG) welding skills
Manual metal arc (MMA) welding skills; Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding skills.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 4 including Maths and a science or technological subject. Applications are also invited from those without formal qualifications but who have relevant life and/or work experience. Interview.
