The technician level qualification combines a broad-based first-year curriculum with a more specialist second-year curriculum, which will provide you with the skills required for employment in this sector.

Architectural design sketching and drawing; Building measurement and cost studies; Building science; Building services; Built environment graded unit; CAD 2D; Construction industry fundamentals; Construction materials and specification; Construction site surveying; Construction technology: substructure; Mathematics for the built environment; Statutory control of buildings; Structural mechanics; Sustainability and modern methods of construction.

Entry Requirements

2 relevant Highers, or NQ Built Environment, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Entry subject to interview.

Progression Routes

BSc Hons courses in Construction Management, Construction Project Management, Quantity Surveying or Building Surveying at Glasgow Caledonian, Heriot-Watt or Edinburgh Napier University.
