This NC in Architecture and Interior Design will focus on the role of the designer responsible for designing the visual aesthetics and functionality of interior space. This course reflects the changes and emerging markets of the architecture and creative industries sectors, providing candidates with an insight into new innovative working practices, exploratory media handling, sustainable design, and building regulation.

It will provide you with an opportunity to engage in a learning experience that offers a mix of architecture and interior design practice, and creative interdisciplinary working knowledge of the architecture and interior design sectors.

The course is a preparation for employment or future study in these areas by allowing you to develop your critical thinking capacity and reflective evaluation process within a technically challenging and innovative learning environment. It will also enable you to develop specific skills in relation and accordance with the social aspect of buildings.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5; or Art and Design Diploma Level 2 (UAL); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview and a portfolio of work is required.

Progression Routes

Progression to higher education or possible employment as interior, exhibition, retail or lighting designer.
