This HND Fashion Textiles course is a highly creative, design-led course that embraces all aspects of surface decoration, fabric construction, drawing and design development. You will also explore printed textiles, knit, weave and embroidery alongside developing garment manufacturing skills.
This course offers excellent progression to degree courses, and it is the only course of its kind in Scotland offering this unique set of opportunities.

Screen printing for both fashion and interiors; Fabric manipulation and surface decoration skills; Machine and hand embroidery; Drawing and media exploration in relation to design development; Knitted and woven textiles; Construction technical skills; Garment manufacture skills - pattern drafting and construction; Sketchbook development and exploration; Design process; Digital imaging and its application in design; Creative research and its context in design; Live industry awareness projects in collaboration with high-profile companies; Sustainability and responsible design; Promotional and marketing skills; Communication skills.
1 Higher in an art based subject; or Foundation in Fashion and Textiles (Level 6), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.
2nd or 3rd year of a relevant degree programme or employment in the textile industry; Modern Apprenticeship within the textile sector.
