The NQ Building Services Engineering (Level 6) course provides an excellent introductory pathway into the design, installation, and management of essential building systems. This one-year, full-time National Qualification gives you a solid foundation in the basic principles of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, electrical services, and wider building services systems.

You will explore how modern buildings function, how engineers design and manage efficient and sustainable environments, and how different building services disciplines work together to create safe, comfortable spaces.

Building Services Engineering Science; Construction Technology and Design; Heating and Plumbing Technology; Introduction to Ventilation system design; Understanding Refrigeration systems; Introduction to Basic Electrical Technology; Introduction to industry software; Mathematics: Technician 1; Building Services Engineering Technology; Building Services Engineering: Design Project; Introduction to CAD; Health, Safety and Welfare in the Building Services Engineering Industry; Introduction to Air Conditioning systems; Engineering Software in BSe.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5 including Maths or Physics; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5.
