This course provides craft vocational training in the carpentry and joinery trade. Successful applicants will follow the same attendance programme as the industrial apprentices. The National Progression Award (NPA) is a vocational qualification designed to prepare people for employment, for career development or for progression to further study.

National Progression Award in Carpentry and Joinery includes:

Bench joinery skills; Manufacture of joinery components; Carpentry and joinery skills; Carpentry and joinery repair and maintenance skills.

In this course, you will also study five Core Skills, including communication, ICT and numeracy, which can help you to gain the essential skills required for life, learning and employment.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. You will be asked to attend an interview and undertake an aptitude test.
