This course is designed to provide students with a range of skills, industry-recognised qualifications and certificates that will assist them in the pursuit of a construction-related apprenticeship. You will focus on bricklaying, joinery and painting trades which have been selected to give an insight to various aspects of the construction industry along with the specific qualifications required to work on-site.

This course differs from other pre-apprentice courses in that it broadly focuses on three trades rather than having a sharper focus on only two.

On this course, you will learn:

Painting and wallpapering techniques; Joinery techniques; Bricklaying techniques.

Qualifications, Certificates and Experiences:

Level 1 Certificate in Construction Skills (Bricklaying); Level 1 Certificate in Construction Skills (Carpentry and Joinery); Level 1 Certificate in Construction Skills (Painting and Decorating); CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test.

Entry Requirements

National 4 subjects in technological subjects would be a considerable advantage to prospective students.

Candidate’s specific course suitability may be decided through a thorough interview process, preference will be given to those who can display a genuine desire to work in the construction industry.
