This introductory course can teach you the essential skills and knowledge you need to work as a construction operative. You'll learn how to mix and lay concrete, build drainage systems, lay brickwork and block paving, reinstate paths and paving, level and set out sites, and operate small tools. You'll also gain a broad understanding of the construction industry and the different roles and responsibilities involved.
Course content includes:
Mixing and laying concrete; Drainage; Brickwork; Block paving; Reinstatement of paths and paving; Levelling and setting out; Small tools operation.
No formal entry requirements. You should have a basic understanding of English and Maths.
Courses such as Introduction to Bricklaying and Masonry Repair, Pre-Apprenticeship in Bricklaying at SCQF Level 4 or Pre-Apprenticeship in Bricklaying at SCQF Level 5.
