The NC Civil Engineering (Level 6, Day Release) course provides a strong technical foundation for individuals already employed in the construction or engineering sectors.

It’s ideal for those beginning their journey in civil engineering who want to build their knowledge and skills while remaining in employment.

This qualification develops your understanding of key engineering and construction principles — from materials and measurement to surveying, CAD and project planning — helping you gain confidence in applying theory to practice in the workplace.

Core Topics Include:

Civil Engineering Technology and Materials; Site Surveying and Measurement; Mechanics and Structural Principles; Project Management and Costing; Computer-Aided Design (CAD); Mathematics for Engineering Applications; Health and Safety.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5 including Maths or Physics; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5.
