The CECA Scotland Academy is a training to work pathway creating qualified Civil Engineering Operatives (CEOs).

Few industries shape our nation in the way civil engineering does. Our industry drives Scotland’s economic growth, working across the roads, rail, water and power sectors; delivering the infrastructure our businesses and communities in Scotland rely on.

Employing over 30,000 workers and with £8.5billion worth of infrastructure projects scheduled in Scotland over the next decade, CECA Scotland together with the wider industry has created this academy as a pathway to create a route into employment and start a career for life.

Championing inclusivity and diversity in the sector, the programme has no entry requirements and applicants from all backgrounds across the country are encouraged to apply.

You will learn about: Workplace Health and Safety; Install Drainage; Lay Kerbs; Excavate Trenches; Reinstate Ground Conditions; Form Concrete Structures; Lay and Finish Concrete; Temporary Excavation Support; Numeracy; Communication; Working with others; Influences on metal health and well-being; Working for yourself.

Entry Requirements

English, Application of Maths and a science or technological subject at National 4.

Progression Routes

Successful completion of the course gives a guaranteed interview at a local Construction Company.

NC Built Environment (Level 6) or an apprenticeship.
