The course develops knowledge and skills for work in the construction industry in areas such as civil engineering, modern methods of construction and project management. In addition, this course develops knowledge and understanding of the construction industry; practical, technical and transferable skills; oral, written and evaluation abilities; resource management; problem solving and planning; organisational and communication skills.

Content includes:

domestic building services; groundworks and substructure; superstructure and finishes; computer aided drafting; construction calculations; construction materials; construction site surveying; health and safety in the construction industry; built environment project; and, sustainable design for architecture
