This practical course will help you brush up your skills in all aspects of painting and decorating, from preparing surfaces and understanding colour to paper hanging and decorative painting. You’ll also get a good grounding in the basics of health and safety and construction best practice, visit sites, get involved in community projects and learn from professionals in the trade.

Preparing and painting surfaces; Decorative painting; Decorative treatments; Prepare and hang lining paper; Colour practice; Paperhanging: Patterned paper; Health and safety in the construction industry; Construction occupation practices; Employment and behavioural skills; ICT.
National 4 in a technological subject, National 4 English and Maths preferred, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.
Relevant NC or HNC course, or a craft apprenticeship in a construction trade.
