This introductory course is designed to give you the skills to support career opportunities into a multi-disciplined industry. The course focuses on the basic construction skills and techniques which support development of your practical skills and help build strong employability skills. This course is based around wall insulation to help make homes efficient.

The construction focus within the 18-week programme will include basic carpentry and joinery skills leading to developing further practical skills and knowledge working on external wall insulation: installation and finishing techniques.

Content:
Internal wall insulation; Carpentry and Joinery Skills; Personal Development in self and work; Introduction to the construction industry; Essential Core skills; Industry Standard training in External Wall insulation Installation and Finishing.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. Interview and practical skills test.

Progression Routes

Further courses in construction or an Apprenticeship.
