There is always a need for skilled tradespeople in building and construction.

This full time course is an ideal way of gaining an overall understanding of the Construction sector and has been designed to develop your skills in joinery, plumbing and electrical.

You will study a range of subjects preparing you for further study, employment or an apprenticeship with local employers.

Course content includes:
Health and Safety in a construction environment; Appreciation of Access Platforms and Equipment; Carpentry & Joinery: An Introduction; Develop Bench Joinery Skills; Manufacture Joinery Components; Develop Constructional Carpentry Skills; Install and Connect Domestic Plumbing; Appliances: An Introduction; Construction crafts, Plumbing of sanitary appliances; Basic Electrical Installation Skills; Plumbing Skills; Employability and Behavioural Skills; Construction Numeracy; Communication; Construction: Information and Communication Technology.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 including a maths based subject; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.
