This Policing and Criminology course allows you the opportunity to study a subject which is applied, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to become a reflective police officer or take on a broader criminal justice role.

The course draws on social sciences, law, computing and business modules, and aims to give you an understanding of a discipline that is evolving theoretically and methodologically. It links theory to practice and seeks to apply learning in the field. You will also have a range of inputs from practitioners throughout the course.

The course was developed with discussion and input from Police Scotland.

2025 entry requirements

Standard entry:
4 Highers at BBBB including English or another English based subject.

Widening access entry:
4 Highers at BBCC including English or another English based subject at B.

For entry to year 2 you must have 3 Advanced Highers at BCC including English or an English based subject.
