This course will give you the skills and knowledge you need to work successfully in an architectural technician’s role. It’s a highly contemporary course, and includes a PDA in Building Information Modelling (BIM).

You will: develop skills in architectural design sketching and drawing; focus on the BIM process; learn how architectural design companies operate; look at substructure; focus on construction technology; learn about structural design and behaviour; look at common building services; carry out practical tasks.

Options for completing this course on a day release basis are also available.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher, preferably English, Maths or a science subject, or a Foundation Apprenticeship Civil Engineering, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Entry is subject to interview.

Progression Routes

Relevant HND or relevant degree course at university, possibly through the college's articulation arrangements, or employment.
