This course is a unique blend of traditional bench-based skills coupled with modern digital approaches to jewellery production taking advantage of the recent developments in computer aided design and 3D printing.

Topics covered include:

Traditional bench-based manufacturing techniques; Modern, cutting-edge digital approaches to jewellery manufacture including CAD, 3D Printing and investment casting in gold, silver and platinum; Historical and Contemporary Jewellery Design; Gemstone testing and Identification; Advanced Gem Setting techniques; Entrepreneurship and digital marketing.

Entry Requirements

NC Jewellery (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

Progression Routes

Progression to related degree courses possible. Employment in retail jewellery, manufacturing jewellery and self-employment.
