If you’re a thoughtful and considerate individual who is interested in becoming a nurse with a focus on adult, mental health or children and young people, this course is suited to you. You’ll learn how best to support those who need help with daily activities and you should enjoy diverse group interaction and be mature enough to work on your own initiative.

Enthusiastic school leavers or those who would like a career change or have experience of caring for others should apply.

Please note: This course is suitable for those who wish to pursue a career in paramedic practice or midwifery, but you require additional Highers or will need to undertake the HNC Healthcare Practice. For midwifery, you must also have Higher English to be considered – please check with admissions at your desired university.

Subjects Include:
Dementia care; Psychology; Anatomy; Sociology; Higher Care qualification; Introduction to Pharmacology; Mental Health; Practical Employability/Clinical Skills – Healthcare.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 at B including English; or Healthcare (Level 5); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5
