This course is for those who want a career as a senior care worker within a social care setting or to progress to University for social work or community education.

The course includes:
A sociological understanding of society; Leadership in social care; Key elements of Health, wellbeing and safeguarding; Human development across the whole lifespan; Psychological approaches that underpin care and support; Promoting health, safety and security in the work setting; How to develop your practice through reflection and learning; The development of various effective communication skills; Key methods and approaches in Care practice.

Entry Requirements

2 relevant Highers including English, or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship, or Route to Social Service Professions (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Entry is by interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
