Law with Criminology

Abertay University

Content

Study crime and law from every angle on Scotland's only Law with Criminology degree.

You'll learn how to apply criminology to legal situations. This means combining legal studies with topics like criminal justice and criminal behaviour. Your knowledge of how well these two subjects complement each other helps to make you very employable.

You'll develop advocacy skills which are central to being a good lawyer. This involves critical thinking, problem-solving and the ability to explain complex concepts in a simple way. A work placement in legal practices broadens your knowledge. Expert guest speakers, pro bono opportunity and professional accreditations all help to enhance your CV for the future.

Many graduates go on to become solicitors and advocates after further study. But with criminology in the mix, you could also work for the police, agencies like the probation service or even in legal journalism.
